Security
How CanIEdit protects your files
Our PDF, image, and document tools are built to keep uploads private. Files are encrypted in transit, processed in isolated storage, and removed automatically after tasks complete.
Short-lived, isolated storage
Uploads stay in isolated buckets dedicated to each task. They are never repurposed for training or shared with advertisers.
Temporary by design: Files are auto-deleted within minutes of processing.
Regional flexibility: Paid plans can request region pinning for compliance.
Scoped access: Only job workers can read the upload during processing.
Automatic cleanup
Processing completion triggers cleanup jobs that wipe temporary assets. If a job fails, watchdogs still remove the files on a timer.
Encryption in transit
Every upload and download uses HTTPS to prevent interception while files move between your browser and our processing workers.
For sensitive work, use a trusted network and close the tab after downloading the merged file.
No watermarking traps - your documents stay clean and ready to send.
No hidden copies - we do not retain backups of processed files.
Minimal logging - runtime logs capture errors, not contents.
Support for compliance - contact us for custom retention rules on paid plans.
Tips for safe processing
Redact sensitive data first if a file includes secrets not required for merging.
Use smaller batches to avoid large-file retries and keep processing windows short.
Download immediately after merging, then close the tab on shared devices.
Check our policy for retention and subprocessors in the privacy policy .
